We arrived in Garmisch-Partenkirchen around 5pm on 4/14/17 our Airbnb was so cute! It felt like we were in a little beach cottage but we literally were right next to the mountains. It was beautiful there; it felt like we were in a fairytale. The little town didn’t seem real; it was pretty easy to get around because it was so tiny. It was impossible to get lost! The street names were so long! Our Airbnb was on Triftsrabe and some of the other streets near us were called Kohlstattstrabe, Schornstrabe and Partnachauenstrabe. Strabe means street that is why it is on the end of every street.

We went to see the Neuschwanstein Castle but it took us a train and 2 buses to get there! The train actually took us to Reutte, Austria. We bought our ticket literally a minute before it was going to leave, I have no idea how we made it on! Then we found out that we could of bought our tickets on the train. From Reutte we took a bus to Fussen, there I found an information desk that told us to buy the castle tickets with them because there is going to be a long line if you wait until you get there! She was very nice, she told us what bus to take and everything! Fussen was such a cute little town. Coming back we had some time and we ate schnitzel and fries. The castle was unreal, it really looked like it came out of a storybook. Once we were done with the tour we found a bridge people go on to see a better view of the castle. Then, you could hike up the side of the cliff to get a real aerial view of the castle. That part was very cool but very scary!! We were not prepare to literally climb a mountain but we did it anyway! We were right on the edge!

On Easter Sunday, we didn’t have a lot of options to do because everything was close. But, we decided to go up to the top of Germany, Zupspitze. It was a very foggy day so we thought because we were going up so high that it wouldn’t matter. Well we were wrong when we got up the mountain it was all white. It was snowing!!! There was so much snow that we couldn’t see anything. All we saw was white…it was bummer. But, we did meet a very nice guy named Toby! He bought us a beer at like 10 in the morning! He was a teacher on his holiday! He was showing us around because he has been there before. We took a selfie together! It kind of sucked that we didn’t get to see anything but we hung out there for an hour or two. It would have been really cool if I was a skier and been able to say I skied down Zugspitze. But, I’m not a skier…Oh Well. Once we got back we were so tired so we just chilled out for the rest of the day! Then we made steak and potatoes for Easter Dinner.

Our last day in Germany was another rainy day, but we still wanted to try and do something. We took the train to Munich! Once we got to Munich we tried using their metro system to get to a Palace but we ended up going in circles for 45 minutes. So we got off because we weren’t getting anywhere, needless to say we didn’t go to the Palace! We were just trying to get to the central part of Munich. We were trying to figure it out for ourselves but our phones weren’t working and we weren’t getting anywhere in the rain. So, we got a taxi and he took us to the Hofbrauhaus Brewery and we each got a half of liter of beer and giant pretzels. The beer was so good, smooth and light! We needed it after the day we were having in the gross rain. We met these two guys that were from South Africa, but they spoke Arabic, French and English. They were telling us about places to go in Paris. After we finished our beers we walked around but everything was close because it was Easter Monday. We wanted to find a museum because those were the only things that were opened After trying to find a map and figuring out where to go we found the Munich Residence. We went though their home and their treasury. These rooms were very detailed and elaborate. A lot of it got destroyed in World War 2 and you could tell because there weren’t any hand paintings and the walls were just painted white. After we just went back to the Airbnb because it was a long day and we had to pack up because we were going to Paris the next day!

It snowed the morning we left Garmisch-Partenkirchen, this was our view from our Airbnb!
