CiaoBella!

My first week here was all about setting in and finding my way around. The jet lag was really hard for me, everyday I felt like I was getting even more tired! It also felt like I was there for so much long then we actually were. It was a weird feeling. The first couple of days were very cold, I was so mad because I packed for warm spring weather. I had to go to Zara and H&M to buy another pair of pants, a long sleeve and a huge blanket scarf. That scarf has been a lifesaver, I have used it so much and it was only 10 euros! We got lost so much in the beginning and I got so frustrated with everything cause it hard to see the street signs and every street looks the same! We walked almost everywhere to find our classes and see the basic landmarks in the first week.

Basilica di Santa Croce is the principal Franciscan church in Florence, Italy. My apartment is       right around the corner from this church!

Of course the first thing I bought in Italy was gelato!!

We found a balcony that is off of the main building of FUA which had these amazing lilacs. The view was of the Ponte Vecchio. It was one of the first days it started to get nice out.

On this street I had my Fashion Forecasting class and there was a bakery right next to it! Every time we had our 15 minute break, I would go there and get 1 euro pastries! They were amazing, espesially because our class was from 12-2:30pm!

We went to the Gucci Museum, I was really cool. TIP: It is only 5 euros if you go after 8pm! We got to see old pieces, his different collections and how the logo changed! We even got to see gowns he designed for certain celebrities, like Blake Lively!

Another day we had to go to an American Diner because we needed a real breakfast, not just a croissant and cappuccino. Then, we went over to the Ponte Vecchio this is where there are a bunch of jewelry shops, too expensive for me!!

We went to this restaurant that was part of FUA and you pay 5 euros for a drink then you can get all you can eat food. I know they also have restaurants around the city that also does a deal like this. It was really good but the food was all finger food it didn't fill us up! My drink was so tasty, it was called a Rossini! It's sparkling wine and pureed strawberries.

First week down, still learning the culture, each day keeps getting better and better.

Cheers,

Kara!
